Qantas is Australia’s pioneering air service founded in western Queensland in 1920. Qantas first started with two aircraft and three staff and served remote communities in inland Australia. The airline grew and assisted the Royal Flying Doctors in the provision of medical aid in the outback, and has supported Australia with vital services during the Second World War. Qantas brought many new Australians to our shores, and allowed Australians to experience air travel for the first time. Qantas is considered one of the world’s leading long-distance airlines, and connects Australia with the world.
