Key Details of the KOMSCO Michaelangelo’s David Mask:

  • Manufacturer: KOMSCO (South Korea)
  • Metal Content: 2 troy oz
  • Purity: .999 Fine Silver
  • Design: The obverse reproduces a high-relief section of the face of Michelangelo's David, while the reverse features a concave, inverse imprint of the same face to allow for tight nesting and storage.
  • Finish: Often released with a light antiqued finish, which highlights the sculpted, polygonal details of the mask and helps conceal handling marks or scratches.

The masterpiece of marble sculpting is Michaelangelo’s David. Standing over five meters high, it was unveiled on 8 September 1504 in the Piazza della Signoria, Florence. It remained there until 1873, when it was moved inside to the Galleria dell’Accademia, being replaced in its original location by a replica.

It is basically a reproduction of a segment of David’s face, right down to the distinctive pupils. It’s beautifully done, and exhibits extreme levels of relief with a high degree of precision. It would be amazing, if it were a numismatic, but it’s all the more impressive when you realize it’s not only bullion, but a stacker as well.
