Skippy nestled in Sonny Hammond’s arms brings a familiar moment from Australian television to this 2020 coloured fifty-cent coin. A television-shaped frame surrounds the portrait, while the vivid yellow-and-red Skippy title crosses the lower design. The twelve-sided outline and engraved 50 denomination give the colourful scene a distinctly Australian decimal setting.

Issued by the Royal Australian Mint to mark fifty years since the series’ finale, this uncirculated release celebrates the companionship at the heart of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. A worldwide mintage of 20,000 and a matching thematic presentation card give the issue a defined place among Australian television commemoratives.
