The Perth Mint is pleased to present this stunning 1oz silver coloured coin in card, featuring a coloured dragon and koi.
In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a divine creature and an auspicious symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune. Throughout East Asia and beyond, koi are synonymous with harmony and happiness, and are also said to be lucky omens for marriage and fertility.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,000 of the GreenDragon and Koi 2023 1oz Silver Red and Gold Coloured Coin in Card.
DESIGN
The coin portrays coloured representations of a Chinese dragon and a koi. As China’s national colour, red is the most auspicious hue for a dragon; the gold koi is believed to attract prosperity and luck. Eyed by both creatures, the flame-ringed pearl is the ancient embodiment of wisdom. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, as well as a ‘moon bridge’ – its high arch and reflection on the water creating the shape of the lunar body often associated with purity or perfection.
The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of Her Majesty’s reign. Also on the obverse is the coin’s weight, purity, monetary denomination, and year-date.
The coin is presented in a coloured presentation card which features a fold-out stand for upright display.
