Vivid colour and an antique finish for its stunning appearance, this 2oz silver coin celebrates the most powerful creature in Chinese mythology, the Dragon.
Serpentine-shaped, the dragon is often depicted with their mouths open and their eyes wide in pursuit of a flaming pearl which is a metaphor for wisdom and enlightenment.
The coin’s reverse portrays a vibrantly coloured dragon with its long, scaly body twisted in the shape of a figure eight, an auspicious number in China. The legendary beast is ready to snatch a coloured gem inscribed with the Chinese character for dragon. The design also includes symbolic clouds, said to be created by the dragon’s breath.
