Megafauna is more than just a coin series by Germania Mint - it is a journey through time, a return to an era when nature itself set the laws of existence. It pays tribute to the majestic creatures that, thousands of years ago, roamed icy plains, mountain valleys, and ancient forests.

Powerful, mysterious, and full of primal energy – they now return in this remarkable collection to remind us of the might of nature and the beauty of a world long lost. Each coin in the series depicts one of the legendary rulers of the Ice Age, captured with extraordinary attention to detail.

Time for the era of giants! The first coin in the new Megafauna series from Germania Mint features the Cave Lion – a mighty predator that once roamed the icy steppes of Europe and Asia. The 2026 Republic of Liberia Megafauna: Cave Lion 20 Dollars 1 oz Silver coinwith Ultra Violet Colour Reacxtion celebrates the raw power and majesty of the lost prehistoric world. Designed by Kinga Sabatowicz, the coin highlights the beauty of the prehistoric world. The Germania Megafauna Cave Lion has a limited mintage of 999 pieces, each encapsulated in a lens capsule with a Coin Box and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

The obverse

The obverse depicts the Cave Lion in its natural habitat – surrounded by mountains and ancient forests. Every detail, from the tense muscles to the bared fangs and sharp claws, captures the predator in full readiness, frozen in the moment before the decisive leap that determines survival.

The reverse

The reverse showcases an original Germania Mint design, featuring the Cave Lion’s skull and paw print, surrounded by tracks of other species that will appear in future issues of the Megafauna series. The composition is completed by the effigy of the Republic of Liberia and the Germania Mint mintmark, confirming authenticity and craftsmanship.
