The coin has a concave surface which is struck in high relief with a kookaburra sitting on the branch of an Australian native gum tree. The Kookaburra and the rim and reeding of the coin are 24-carat gilded. The Kookaburra is often referred to as the ‘king of the bush’, so it is appropriate to regally attire with a coat of gold in this portrayal. The coin is struck in 2 ounces of 99.89% pure silver to proof quality with the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The Gilded Kookaburra is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity, and housed in a classic display case with a clear lid. An illustrated cardboard shopper encases the display.
