The coin shows a tiger cub with its parent tiger gilded in 24-carat gold. Included in the design are bamboo and ferns, the Chinese character for ‘tiger’, and The Perth Mint’s mintmark. The classic display case has a clear lid decorated with a silver border design and comes in an illustrated cardboard box showing the lunar tiger and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity. The boxes of the coins in the Australian Lunar Series III when placed side by side, form a diorama that illustrates the ancient myth of The Great Race.
