A special ANDA issue for the 2022 Sydney Money Expo (8 – 9 October), this exclusive 1/4oz silver coloured coin celebrates the Year of the Rabbit.
According to Legend, the emperor commanded a great race to decide which animals would appear in the lunar zodiac. As part of the course, each animal had to cross a fast-flowing river. The nimble rabbit used stepping stones before floating on a log to reach the opposite bank in fourth place.
Those born under the sign of the lunar rabbit in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975 and every 12th preceding year, are said to be intelligent, creative, vigilant and compassionate.
The coin portrays a coloured representation of a rabbit, alert and with its ears erect, and another rabbit stretching towards a budding branch. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’, the inscription ‘RABBIT 2023’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
